Wellness of our residents is a priority and we aim to improve overall health and independence through the supports provided in partnership with allied health professionals such as:
General Practitioners:
We encourage residents to liaise with the Primary Practitioner prior to coming to Murray House and ask whether they will visit them at the facility. This can be the case at times. Family & Friends may also like to help transport you to your current GP to assist with maintaining some consistency in you daily life. We can also assist with transport through Sunassist if needed. Murray House has two regularly visiting GPs and we can facilitate a transfer if preferred.
Audiology:
Hearing can be a very important part of a resident’s quality of life. We have monthly visits from Country Hearing to Murray House and encourage resident's to participate if needed.
Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy:
We have fulltime support from Australian Health Practitioners in assisting with Pain Management and mobility assessments.
Podiatry:
Murray House works in conjunction with Sunraysia Podiatry to provide and range of podiatry services including: Initial podiatry assessment of individual resident's needs and development of care plans; Maintaining basic foot care including nail cutting and reduction and corn enucleation and callus debridement; Footwear advice. These sessions are achieved through a referral and thus are routinely bulk billed at no cost to the consumer.
Dental:
Murray House has visits from Mobile Dental Clinics Australia. This can be a great advantage for residents who find it difficult to leave the facility. This is a fee-for-service program.
Hairdresser:
Many resident enjoy a regular haircut and/or set. Our lovely hairdresser, Anita visits on a Thursday. Further to this, there are two local hairdressing salons that can be contacted for an appointment.
Dareton Primary Health:
Murray House enjoys a close working relationship with Dareton Primary Health who can help facilitate a range of specialised services including: Palliative Care, Geriatrician & Psych-geriatrician appointments, Wound Consultant to name a few.
